About

We live in a world where disruptive innovation and technologies are constantly reinventing our context. The effects of the fourth industrial revolution, and associated innovations and technologies, are of particular relevance to the community of educators, academic and industry leaders, researchers and students who are involved in engineering education. Furthermore, engineers are, now more than ever, heralded as the heroes who can meet the challenges of this rapidly changing world and create a better future for humanity and our planet. The global engineering education community is faced with the tremendous task of thinking of innovative, equitable, flexible and adaptable solutions for rising to this challenge – for creating disruptive innovations for engineering education, for a world that is beset with challenges, in order to change the trajectory of humanity and to create a sustainable and ethical future for all.

The World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF) has been an important event in furthering the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies’ (IFEES) mission to bring together the global community to build excellence in engineering education. WEEF has served as an opportunity of IFEES members to discuss leading issues in engineering education, and to share and learn best practices. Not only do international organizations benefit greatly from the Forum, but local engineering education institutions are heavily involved in the vision and execution of this event. The venue of WEEF changes each year, and due to the Covid19 developments in 2020, we are excited to announce that WEEF-GEDC 2020 will be a VIRTUAL event. We expect 500 delegates to participate from around the world.

We are honored to announce that our Rising to the Top book series has added TWO new volumes!

Rising to the Top provides an intimate and inspiring look into the experiences that have shaped the lives and careers of women engineering leaders from around the world. By openly sharing their personal journeys in these pages, the authors hope to not only inspire the next generation of engineering leaders, but also provide valuable insight into the challenges facing women engineers around the world, and the opportunities that are theirs for the taking.
