The IFEES Duncan Fraser Global Award for Excellence in Engineering Education recognizes individuals who have made innovative and meritorious contributions with a significant impact on the advancement of engineering education. IFEES encourages nominations of outstanding candidates from all regions of the world.
The 2020 Duncan Fraser Committee was chaired by IFEES Executive Committee Member, Dr. Ariela Sofer. The Global Award will be presented at the World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF)/Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC) Virtual Event in November 2020 and physically celebrated at the IFEES annual Duncan Fraser Awards dinner during the WEEF/GEDC 2021 event in Madrid, Spain. The winners of both years 2020 and 2021 will each receive a one-time monetary prize of US $1,000, a medal, a roundtrip (economy class) ticket and lodging at our WEEF 2021 conference hotel in Madrid, Spain.

Members of the IFEES community are encouraged to nominate an individual who they believe falls within the criteria of having provided extraordinary leadership and impact in engineering education.

All types of contributions to engineering education are considered, for example: curriculum development, pedagogical research and development, mentoring, development of educational materials, increasing diversity and professional leadership. The broad impact of work must be clearly established in terms of measured outcomes.
