Capacity BUilding

Initiatives // Capacity Building

our programs

IFEES partners with institutions, societies, and individuals to provide on-site capacity building programming to faculty around the world. Organizations interested in learning more about what services IFEES can offer should contact Dr. Hans Jürgen Hoyer.

Workshops at Tsinghua University

In 2011, a mutual partnership was established between these organizations, resulting in the first of a series of annual workshops at Tsinghua University, and ultimately encompassing a larger initiative promoting engineering education in China and abroad.

Over the past seven years, IFEES and its partners, particularly SEFI, have worked with the CTCEE to promote strategic collaborations and cooperation in a series of workshops and courses in Beijing. The partnership has also expanded into research collaborations and consultancy for organizing conferences, sharing best practices, capacity building programs and a variety of other activities.

The CTCEE itself was established by the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Tsinghua University and serves as a prominent national consulting organization in engineering and technological sciences in China.

IGIP Certification Program in Latin America

The certification program dedicated to Latin America provides formal professional training and capacity building in teaching and learning methodologies for engineering and related disciplines for faculty, graduate students and other interested parties worldwide.

Professors who complete can become certified as International Engineering Educators, per IGIP global standards and can use the title of Ing.Paed.IGIP in their business cards. In addition, certified professors obtain one-year membership in IGIP.

We are honored to announce that our Rising to the Top book series has added TWO new volumes!

Rising to the Top provides an intimate and inspiring look into the experiences that have shaped the lives and careers of women engineering leaders from around the world. By openly sharing their personal journeys in these pages, the authors hope to not only inspire the next generation of engineering leaders, but also provide valuable insight into the challenges facing women engineers around the world, and the opportunities that are theirs for the taking.
